CHARGING, WITHOUT THE GUESSWORK

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Understand the basics, explore your options and feel more confident about the next step.

Which charger is right for my home?+

Choose between the TAYNIU 7 kW single-phase and 22 kW three-phase Type 2 home wallboxes. Both are smart chargers controlled from your phone through Smart Life / Tuya over Wi-Fi. Start or stop charging, set schedules and view charging status and energy data. Both include an EVCS 10-metre Type 2 cable configuration. We check your vehicle and electrical supply before recommending the right option.

Can I control both home chargers from my phone?+

Yes. Both our 7 kW single-phase and 22 kW three-phase chargers support Smart Life / Tuya phone App control over Wi-Fi. You can start or stop charging, set schedules and view charging information. Wi-Fi and a compatible setup are required; scheduled charging depends on vehicle compatibility. App-based current adjustment up to 32 A is available on the 7 kW model only, not the 22 kW model. Phone interfaces in our product visuals are illustrative.

What home charging services does EVCS offer?+

Three options: buy our 7 kW or 22 kW charger with direct courier delivery; choose a fixed-price package that includes our charger, on-site installation and commissioning; or supply your own home charger and book our installation-only service.

Is the charger included in the installed package price?+

Yes. Melbourne Metro only. Additional charges apply outside Melbourne Metro. The 7 kW single-phase package is AUD $1,599 and the 22 kW three-phase package is AUD $1,899. Each fixed all-in price includes the selected charger, its 10 m Type 2 cable, on-site installation, commissioning and a 2-year warranty. It is not an installation fee with the charger sold separately.

Can you install a charger I have already bought?+

Yes. Melbourne Metro only. Additional charges apply outside Melbourne Metro. Have your customer-supplied home charger ready and EVCS can install and commission it for a fixed AUD $950 service fee. A charger is not included in this installation-only service. We check the equipment and site compatibility before booking.

Can I buy a charger without installation?+

Yes. Melbourne Metro only. Additional charges apply outside Melbourne Metro. The 7 kW charger has a fixed price of AUD $699 and the 22 kW charger is AUD $999. Both prices include postage and free courier delivery within Melbourne Metro direct to you. No delivery charge within Metro. Installation is not included and must be arranged with a qualified electrician.

Which service includes the 2-year warranty?+

The 2-year warranty is included with our charger-and-installation packages. Detailed terms are confirmed before booking. The installed-package warranty should not be assumed to apply to courier-only purchases or a charger supplied by the customer.

Will a charger work with my electric vehicle?+

The selected TAYNIU home model uses a Type 2 connector for AC charging. It is intended for vehicles with a compatible Type 2 AC inlet. We confirm your exact vehicle’s connector and onboard charging limit before supply; a CCS2 DC capability alone does not determine home AC charging speed.

How long does it take to charge an EV?+

Our home wallboxes are rated at up to 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase AC. Actual speed depends on your vehicle’s onboard charger and site supply: a vehicle limited to 7 or 11 kW AC will not receive 22 kW. We plan around your daily driving and the energy needed rather than promise a universal time.

How much does an installation cost?+

The charger, cable route, distance from the switchboard, protection devices, supply capacity and any upgrades all affect the price. Commercial sites may also need civil works, networking and approvals. Ask for a site-specific proposal with equipment, installation and any ongoing software or maintenance costs clearly separated.

Can I charge using my rooftop solar?+

A home with solar may use some locally generated electricity while charging, depending on generation and household demand. The TAYNIU model’s app scheduling is not the same as automatic solar-surplus tracking. That dedicated solar-control capability is not confirmed for this model and is not included in our advertised features.

Do I need three-phase power?+

Not necessarily. Dedicated home chargers are available for single-phase supply, commonly up to 7.4 kW. Higher AC outputs such as 11 or 22 kW require a suitable three-phase supply, and your vehicle must support that output. A site assessment checks capacity and suitability.

Can EV chargers be installed in an apartment building?+

Often, yes. The project needs a review of shared electrical capacity, cable routes, parking allocation, metering and load management. Owners corporation permission and building-specific approvals may also be needed. A staged rollout can help accommodate future demand.

Can we control access and track charging usage?+

Compatible commercial hardware and software can provide access control, session records and tariff options. Features, connectivity and subscription costs vary by solution. These requirements should be agreed during planning, not assumed to be included with every charger.

What maintenance does an EV charger need?+

Routine checks may include cable and connector condition, mounting, electrical protection testing and supported firmware updates. The schedule depends on manufacturer guidance, site exposure and usage. Report damaged equipment and stop using it until it has been assessed safely.

What should I do if my charger stops working?+

Record the model, error message and what happened, then contact EVCS through the support enquiry form. Do not open the equipment or attempt electrical repairs. If you notice smoke, damage or an electrical hazard, stop using the charger and seek urgent assistance from a qualified electrician; call 000 in an emergency.

This is general information, not a site-specific electrical design. A qualified professional should assess your property and equipment before installation.
